Top 5 Super Hero Games

Top 5 Super Hero Games

Hey guys I already told you what my least favorite, super hero games were. Well now today we are looking at my top 5 super hero video games. These are my absolute favorite games and if you guys have a different top 5 then please let me know in the comments below.

Number 5

Spider-Man & Venom: Separation Anxiety

Super Nintendo, Sega Mega Drive

Super Hero - bs1

This is one of my favorite games from my teenage years. Spider-Man & Venom: Separation Anxiety is a side scrolling beat em up in the same style of Final Fight and Streets Of Rage. This is a very challenging game, but it is just so much fun to play. It has comic book style graphics and cut scenes that are awesome! The best fun though that you can have with this game and the reason it has made it to my list is for its amazing two player co-op.

Number 4

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Xbox 360, Playstation 3

Super Hero - bs2

Man talk about a hidden (and forgotten) gem of a video game. If you want to play as Wolverine then this is the game that has just captured him perfectly. This was a mature rated game because the developers were allowed to make Wolverine take no crap and just slice and dice enemies in this game. The combat is brutal with  a ton of amazing combos at your disposal to rip limbs of enemies and to take them down in other gruesome ways. In many ways this game feels like it was inspired by the God Of War video games……. And that is not a bad thing. This can be picked up for just a few bucks and it is well worth it. Presentation may be a little rough, but the fun and over the top game play more than make up for it.

Number 3

Batman Returns

Super Nintendo

Super Hero - bs3

I did a more in depth review of this game a few weeks back and if you read it, you will not be surprised to find it on my list! This is side scrolling action at its very best. You play through the events (with a few changes of course) from the movie and you just kick so much ass along your way! You can beat this game in one sitting so it’s perfect if you want something that is fun to pick up and play. Great graphics, an awesome soundtrack and some fantastic controls make this a Batman game everyone needs to play.

Number 2

Marvel Ultimate Alliance

Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 2

Super Hero - bs4

Wow what a freaking game this was. Now there was a sequel, but I think the first game was better. This was a top down, dungeon crawler style RPG set in the Marvel Universe. This was a progression from the X-Men Legends series of games. You got to pick a team of four super heroes to try and stop such villains as Dr Doom, Galactus, Modok and many more. The game has an amazing story which if you are a Marvel fan you will love. Also the game has a ton of different upgrades for each character including four costumes which is awesome. Also this game has a cool feature where you can play it “arcade” style with you and a friend running through the game like it’s an old style beat em up!

Number 1

Batman Arkham City

Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii U, PC

Super Hero - bs5

This is a masterpiece of a game, you could not be a fan of The Dark Knight and still love this game. This is the best out of the Arkham Trilogy. It took what was great about, Arkham Asylum and just made it bigger, better and more bad ass in every way. You really do feel like you are Batman in this game and the story is just so well written and interesting that you want to never stop playing once you start. The voice acting is some of the best I have ever heard in a video game and if you ask me this is the best incarnation of the Joker ever!  Game play wise this is just a joy to play with combat being a lot of fun and Batman having a ton of toys to play with. This is not only my favorite super hero game of all time, but one of my all-time favorite game
