Top 5 Transformers Games

Transformers - tpfe

Transformers……… really? Well yeah, actually the robots in disguise have been in some pretty damn fine video games over the years. I have been a Transformers fan since the 80’s. I vividly remember thinking I was the coolest kid in the school with my lunchbox that had Ultra Magnus and Galvatron on it! Anyway here today I want to share with you my top 5, Transformers video games!

Number 5

Transformers Prime

Nintendo Wii U

Transformers - tp1

I thought I would start with a game that came and went without anyone noticing. Transformers Prime was a great TV show. It was perfect for a new generation of kids and also cool for us old G1 Fans. The Transformers Prime video game was a fun, 3rd person shooter that mixed in some cool racing action as well. True the game will never win any awards, but if you love Transformers and enjoy a fun, well-made 3rd person shooter then this is well worth checking out and also there are not too many games like this on the Wii U.

Number 4

Transformers: Human Alliance

Arcade

Transformers - tp2

I have played this gem of an on rails shooter a few times now and it is a damn shame it will never make its way to the home consoles. Made by Sega, Transformers: Human Alliance is based in the same universe as the Michael Bay movies. It is an on rails light gun shooter and you are needed to blast away a ton of cannon fodder Decepticons before making it to boss battles with characters such as Starscream and Megatron. The cabinet is really cool as it looks like Bumblebee!

Number 3

Transformers

Playstation 2

Transformers - tp3

Released in 2004, Transformers was based on the Transformers: Armada series. This was a Playstation 2 game and at the time boasted some of the most impressive graphics on the system. You had a choice of three different Transformers and you had to kick some serious bad guy ass in a number of amazing locations. This was a very hard game, but you could equip these awesome little Mini Cons that would give you extra abilities like more fire power and the ability to fly. This is a great game, but be warned it is one hell of a tough challenge. Still for over a decade this was the best Transformers game you could buy!

Number 2

Transformers: War For Cybertron

Playstation 3, Xbox 360

Transformers - tp4

Wow this game was amazing and in a just world it is credited for doing to Transformers what Arkham Asylum did for Batman. This is an amazing 3rd person shooter that tells an original story featuring all your favorite G1, Transformers. It tells the story of how the Autobots and Decepticons came to despise each other. The voice acting, the graphics and everything else just make this a Transformers fans dream! Each level lets you have a choice of a few different Transformers and one other cool thing is that you play the game from both the Autobots and Decepticons point of view.

Number 1

Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron

Playstation 3, Xbox 360

Transformers - tp5

The only game that could beat, War For Cybertron was its successor. It did everything the first game did, but it did it that little bit better. The story was once again fantastic (and the game also features the best end credits of any game ever!) the game play though was better this time around as you did not seem to run out of ammo quite as quickly as you did in the first game. Best of all though, Fall Of Cybertron let you play as Grimlock, leader of the Dinobots and he was freaking awesome! This is a great game that got some critical acclaim when it was released, but has now been forgotten about. Do yourself a favor and track down both this and War For Cybertron!
