Star Ocean 5 Coming To PS4!

Star Ocean 5 Coming To PS4!

It has been rumored for most of the week that the big reveal that Square Enix had been playing  and teasing us with was going to be a new Star Ocean game. Well it turns out these rumors were true as in Japanese magazine, Weekly Famitsu the latest game in the series, Star Ocean: Integrity And Faithlessness is one the way and as of writing will be released for both  the Playstation 3 and Playstation 4.

Fans have been waiting for Star Ocean 5 since 2009 when the last game in the series was released, Star Ocean: The Last Hope. Square Enix will as usual be publishing the game, but Tri-Ace the people behind the very first Star Ocean game released on the Super Nintendo will once again and as expected be developing the game. Speaking of development the game is said to be a little over a quarter done so any chance of a release this year seems very slim.

Details are very thin on the ground and, Weekly Famitsu just had a few shots of the game, but one thing we do know is that the hero of the game, Fidel Camus will be going on one hell of an adventure along with other announced characters, Miki Sorvesta who is the main female and also a child called Lilia who has not only lost all of her memories, but her emotions as well which sounds very interesting. They will be on a planet called Feycreed which is said to be a very “uncivilized” planet. The events of the game will be set between the second game in the series, Star Ocean: The Second Story and the third game in the series, Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time.

Star Ocean 5: Integrity And Faithlessness will have what sounds like a really cool and fun real time battle system. How far apart you and your enemy/opponent are will depend on the type of attack you unleash on them. The series has always had a fun way of handling battles and this sounds like it will be no different.

This is a huge release for the Playstation 4 and is bound to shift more than a few systems when it is released especially in Japan.
