Rare Replay: Five Reasons You Need To Buy This Game!

rarerepfe

One of the games that I was most excited to see pop up at E3 2015 was Rare Replay for the Xbox One. For years I thought that the Sega Mega Drive Collection (Sonics Ultimate Genesis Collection for you folks in the States) was the best compilation of games ever, but Rare Replay with its 30 titles I think is going to give it a real run for its money. Anyway today I want to share with you guys (in no particular order) what are the five best games…… and five best reasons that you need to pick this up!

Conker’s Bad Fur Day

Now if I am mistaken I apologize, but it is my understanding that it will be the Nintendo 64 version of the foul mouthed squirrel that we will be seeing as part of Rare Replay. Which do not get me wrong is awesome as this game was not censored as much as the Xbox remake…… but everything else about the Xbox remake was better in my opinion. It also had a fun multi player mode which I think would have been cool to see. Anyway despite this being the Nintendo 64 version of the game, Conker’s Bad Fur Day is still an incredible game and a game that is really climbing up in regards to its price so it’s cool that people will be able to get to play this without spending a ton of cash.

Battletoads Arcade

Man this is freaking awesome that this is on here. I grew up with the Battletoads game on the NES and Battlemaniacs on the SNES and I really enjoyed them both. It was not until about 2004 when I got a modded Xbox with a MAME emulator that I even knew there was a Battletoads arcade game. It is by far the best Battletoads experience that you can get. The game is pretty damn bloody and plays better than any of the home versions of Battletoads. There is not enough, epic side scrolling beat em ups these days so, Battletoads Arcade is something I am looking very forward to playing, actually this will probably be the first game I play on this collection.

Jet Force Gemini

This is a game that to me seems like it has been forgotten about which is a damn shame as this is one of the best….. if not the very best 3rd person shooter on the Nintendo 64. Jet Force Gemini sees you playing as a member of the Jet Force team who need to put an ass whopping on this insect army that is led by an evil king called Mizar. This is still a good looking game so I cannot wait to see how it looks on my TV playing through the Xbox One. Also Jet Force Gemini has some really fun multi player modes and split screen co-op as well. In all this is one of the games on the Rare Replay collection that should be getting more attention than it is.

R.C Pro Am II

rarerep4

The original R.C Pro Am is included on this collection, but it is the second game in the series that has got me pumped up! I played so much of this game on the NES it was unreal. It was a late game to be released for the NES, but I still played it with my buddies even years into when I had my SNES. Anyway this is a fun racing game where you control these little radio controlled cars. What is really cool is that you can earn money as you play the game which you can then use to upgrade and make your car really cool. This is going to be a real hit for people who love multi-player gaming.

Banjo Tooie

rarerep3

I have picked Banjo Tooie over, Banjo Kazooie (which is also included on this collection along with Nuts & Bolts) simply because I feel that it offers the same kind of game play and general experience that the original Banjo game offered, but it just does everything bigger and better. Banjo Tooie is a 3rd person platform, puzzle, action and adventure game where you have to play through these really large levels, collecting just a ton of stuff as you go and taking part is some really fun boss battles. While this game has made my list I will say that if this is the first time you have played a Banjo game that you should start with, Banjo Kazooie.
