God Of War III Remastered
If there was one game that was released in 2015 that made me say wow and then immediately after it, why does this game exist? Then it was God Of War III Remastered for the PlayStation 4. I am a huge God Of War fan and I actually think that the third game in the series is Kratos’s most over the top and brutal adventure yet. On the PlayStation 3, this is one of the most incredible looking games. It looks so good that you could fire up the PlayStation 3 versions today and be blown away by the visuals. So it was for this reason that many people, even those who loved God Of War III wondered why it was being “remastered”
The story of the game sees you playing as Kratos whose quest for vengeance has reached a peak where he no longer just wants revenge for the death of his wife and daughter he wants to kill all the god who sits upon Mount Olympus so, with the help of a few Titans, Kratos makes his way to see if he can destroy Zeus and finally find some peace. To be honest I feel that the God Of War story is one of the best stories in gaming and while you could just jump straight into this and enjoy it, you would really benefit from playing the other games in the series, which as I write this are available as part of the PlayStation Now service so I would highly recommend you play those games first if you want the full God Of War experience.
God Of War III Remastered is truly gorgeous looking game. It may lack the polish of a brand spanking new PlayStation 4 title, but I feel that it really holds its own and Kratos’s rampage is still very visually impressive. Now one of the selling points of this remaster was that it was faster than the original version. God Of War III Remastered does move at a blistering pace, but I, in all honesty, did not notice a huge difference in the speed of the game from the original version, but that may just be me. The music is just epic and really could not fit the game any better and even the voice acting is incredible featuring many well-known actors such as Malcolm Mcdowell, Kevin Sorbo, and Clancy Brown.
Gameplay wise, God Of War III is a lot of fun and many do say that the game is a button masher and in all honesty, to a degree, I would have to agree with that, but that does not mean this is a bad game. God Of War III is one of the best action games on the PlayStation 4 and you will have an absolute blast as you rip enemies, literally limb from limb. Kratos can get his hands on many different weapons as he goes on his quest and these can all be upgraded and given new abilities by collecting the blood from your fallen enemies. You can also find chests that contain blood which will help you improve your weapons faster. God Of War III is a game where you can just button mash your way through it or you can take the time to learn different combos and strategies. I feel that no matter what way you play the game, you are going to have a great time.
God Of War III Remastered for the PlayStation 4 is a truly fantastic game. People may be getting sick of these remasters and I still am not sure why this game was necessary, but having another excuse to try and rid Kratos of his pain and put a stop to the gods is ok with me. This can be picked up for under 20 bucks now and it is an absolutely worth that money and a game I highly recommend.
